GSA’s Year in Review

By Tiffany Tremblay, GSA President

Where has the year gone?! It seems like last week it was January and now it’s moments away from 2017! I’m excited and honored to be GSA’s incoming president. I have some impressive shoes to fill, taking the helm from Donna Jo Shanks. I’m grateful that she will remain on the board for another year to share her passion, insight and ideas. I’m also grateful to our members and friends who helped make this year so rewarding. Following are highlights of GSA’s accomplishments and some of our goals for the coming year.

2016

  • We held four incredible, professional-quality educational programs this year.
  • Our annual Legislative Day in March at the Capital City Club was one of our best attended events ever.
  • ASA recognized GSA with the 2016 Chapter Achievement and Legislative Achievement Awards (for the third year in a row).
  • We also earned an honorable mention for ASA’s Care Award.
  • GSA significantly expanded our community outreach this year. We led workshops throughout May and monthly thereafter for the North Fulton Community Charities education center. We also donated 100+ pounds of gently used professional clothing to NFCC’s Thrift Store.
  • ASA’s Government Affairs Counsel Toby Malara led a webinar updating our members on national trends and legislation affecting the staffing industry.

2017

  • You won’t want to miss our award-winning Legislative Day, Thursday, January 26th from 7:30 am to 11:00 am at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel.
  • Save the date for our educational lunch program scheduled for March 2nd and led by Inavero’s Director of Sales, Cris Schulz.
  • We plan to increase the number of programs and segment them to be even more relevant to each member of our audience.
  • We will share new content on staffing trends, both in Georgia and nationwide, more frequently in GSA’s newsletter and on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.  Search for “Georgia Staffing” and follow us to stay up-to-date on the latest news and events.
  • We are planning social mixers and our annual golf tournament fundraiser for the summer months -- stay tuned for more details.

GSA serves as the voice of the staffing industry in Georgia. We need all of you to help us promote and represent our profession by attending our events, sharing your thoughts and referring new members and industry partner prospects to GSA. As GSA’s new president, I want to know what else you need from your staffing association. How can GSA better serve you and your team? Send me an email at info@georgiastaffing.org and let’s start a conversation.

Thank you for your continued support of GSA. Happy New Year!
